Dr. Lydia Pethick is a senior policy veterinarian working at the intersection of biosecurity, wellbeing, and sustainability. With nearly 20 years of experience across pet care, the biomedical industry, television, and government policy, particularly in livestock biosecurity and aquatic animal health, she is passionate about supporting the agriculture and fisheries sectors. Trained in Permaculture, Positive Psychology, and Therapeutic Horticulture, Lydia brings a unique perspective to food systems by championing the interconnected care of animals, people, and our planet. Outside of work, she enjoys transforming her urban garden into a thriving food forest.
